The Bar

In the bar you will find cosy corners, deep sofas and a fabulous pewter bar, perfect for a quick pint, delicious supper or a lively catch-up with friends.

The existing downstairs area has been stripped back and we have restored the parquet wooden floor to it's former glory, uncovered a beautiful chimney stack that now houses a double sided wood burner stove and carefully polished and repaired original wooden banquette seating.

The Ryebank

Move through to the Ryebank for a bite to eat in our stunning oak-beamed room. This glorious space looks out over the terrace and the local rife.

And you'll find full flavour menus, inspired by the seasons, bursting with traditional pub grub favourites and local ingredients, specials include our Spicy Guinness and Sussex Charmer soup and Climping beach fish pie.

The Pink Room

A fabulous area for private parties for up to 10 guests.

This is the perfect room for a cosy celebration, fun family lunch or noisy dinner party.

And yes, it is extremely pink!

Dogs at The Black Horse

The Black Horse is a dog friendly pub where your four-legged friend is welcomed just as much as you are. Dogs can look forward to plenty of treats and cuddles.

Well-behaved dogs are welcome at The Black Horse in both the Bar and the Ryebank.

For those of you wishing to stay, dogs are charged at a rate of £25 per night per dog (up to two dogs per room). Dogs stay in the room with you and are welcome everywhere. We simply ask that you are mindful of other guests when around the pub and that your dogs are kept on their leads in all public areas including the terraces outback and outfront.

Kids at The Black Horse

The Black Horse is a family friendly pub and we recognise that if your children are happy and relaxed then so are you. We will do our best to ensure your children are as well looked after as you are, please ask if there is anything in particular we can do to make this happen.

Children are very welcome in the bar and Ryebank where you can eat and relax as a family. Please ask for smaller portions if there is something they fancy on the main menu, or we have a kids menu.

And for those that can't last until dinner, we are serve snacks and light meals throughout the day.

And if you simply can't leave, West rooms can accommodate a cot for under 5 year, charged at a rate of £25 per night per child including bed & breakfast.
